Not even mentioned in the main story, but still present!

Of all the texts we link with Brigid, this one is perhaps the loosest. Appearing in the marginalia (fancy Latin term for the scribbling in the margins that most scholars do...) but not in the main story and with academics still arguing over whether she's really involved at all, is it worth learning more?

Well, obviously I think so, given I'm teaching on the topic! Let's dive in and explore Brigid's role as a possible grieving mother - again. The mention of incest and twin cults. Grieving sons taking vengeance. Internal strife in the TDD.

And, possibly most importantly, what can we learn from all this!

Join me on the 21st September, 7pm (Irish time!) to explore Brig and her role in Oidheadh Chlainne Tuireann!

Órlagh is an Irish Pagan Catholic, working most of the time with Irish Brigid, but sure the rest of the family drop in as they wish, as well. Órlagh works with energy, whether reiki, reflexology or her own Brigidine practices. She has a strong interest in the Irish language, speaking it, using it, learning more of it and considers it a vital part of an Irish Pagan practice (or indeed any interest in getting to know Ireland in general!) She can be found at www.mybrigidsforge.com or in the Brigid’s Forge facebook group.
